I must say, I've loved the Pip and Flinx series since I was back in middle school, and read For love of Mother Not (still my favorite, I think, so many good books though).

Anyways, I know that the whole reading order is over on the side, I summerized it here.

NOR CRYSTAL TEARS
PHYLOGENESIS
DIRGE
DIUTURNITY'S DAWN
VOYAGE TO THE CITY OF THE DEAD
MIDWORLD
*THE EMOMAN
*SURFEIT
ICERIGGER
FOR LOVE OF MOTHER-NOT
THE TAR-AIYM KRANG
MISSION TO MOULOKIN
ORPHAN STAR
THE DELUGE DRIVERS
THE END OF THE MATTER
*SNAKE EYES
FLINX IN FLUX
MID-FLINX
REUNION
DROWNING WORLD
*SIDESHOW
QUOFUM
*MID-DEATH
FLINX'S FOLLY
SLIDING SCALES
RUNNING FROM THE DEITY
BLOODHYPE
TROUBLE MAGNET
THE HOWLING STONES
PATRIMONY
*GROWTH
FLINX TRANSCENDENT
SENTENCED TO PRISM
CACHALOT

The questions I had are two fold.
1) Is that still accurate, or is there anything new that has been done, either short or full novel, that should be added in there.
2) The ones with the * by them are short stories. I have every single novel except for Quofum and Flinx Transcendent (I think those are both not released yet), but I would like to be able to read all the short stories as well. Since they wouldn't be found at book stores, I was wondering what would be the best way for me to get my hands on them?

Thanks

As to your list, you can check it against the Commonwealth Chronology here on the website (click on DATA, then on CHRONO DATA). The few Commonwealth short stories appeared in various anthologies as well as my collections. Best to look for them on Amazon or in used book stores.

EXCEPTIONS TO REALITY, my next collection (out in late July) will contain a Flinx & Pip short, GROWTH, that fits between PATRIMONY and FLINX TRANSCENDENT.

Hi Richard;
It might be a while before MID-DEATH appears in another collection. First, because it was an original commission for the SF book club and second, because it's usually a few years between my collections and the next one is due out the end of July.
I have some ideas, though, and when the opportunity arises I'll speak to the SFBC folks about it. Meanwhile, try abebooks.com/docs/Sciencefiction/ for the special SFBC omnibus where it first appeared.

ok, I found 2 short stories listed that where not in the Commonwealth Chronology on the side

Perception (c)...............................Firebirds Rising, Penguin/Firebird, 2006

Chilling (c).................................Baen's Universe, June 2006

Anyways, thanks for your help. I found most of the short stories are in anthologies, which are easier to find, found a few already on amazon / etc. The few in magazines (like The Emoman) where the ones that I was wanting help finding. But I figure I'll first find the easier ones, and then can worry about tracking down those other ones.

DS;
Those two stories should have been put up in the chronology. That oversight has now been rectified.
