I just finished reading Dirge, and have a question.

I know that Alwyn Mallory and his nurse, Irene Tse were getting very close. The book did not discuss what became of that relationship. I knew those names were familiar - and then remembered the character Bran Tse-Mallory (Tar-Aiym Krang).

This seems too much for coincidence.
Is he their offspring, or distant progeny.

Am I missing something? Is my senility affecting important stuff (like Sci-Fi trivia)?

Bravo, Rande. You've touched on one of the innumerable little things that are woven throughout the Commonwealth series.

Alwyn Mallory and Irene Tse are indeed the progenitors of the Tse-Mallory line. Bran Tse-Mallory is born 509 years after DIRGE, in 474 a.a. His birth year is shown on the Commonwealth Chronology.

I`ve always wanted to know if you were going to do a series on Tru and Bran Alan..
Is there any chance of this happening...I`m sure they will be in the future Flinz/Pip books.
thanks again for the great reading this year..

Richard;
My writing career has been like a tree. start with one thing, and branches just shoot out all over the place. And those branches branch out into more branches and....
Not nearly enough time. But we'll see what the future holds....

A series on Tru & Bran would be a great addition to the Commonwealth books!
