So Alan,

You wrote the novelization and I'm sure you have seen the movie. The new Star Trek movie is what I've been waiting to see since the early 70's. I like the plot twist that changes so much too. I'm thinking if only George Lucas would have had JJ Abrams involved in the last three movies.....

Spielberg to direct Star Wars prequels? Hell no, I wouldn't want that. Irvin Kershner is the man who should have been at the helm for the prequels.
And for the record, I am not a 'trekkie' though I was very much an avid watcher of the mid to late 60s television series that I watched as reruns in the mid 70s. I, in conclusion, give some praise for this new Star Trek flick. Besides the intrigue of the characters, this sci fi flick actually features some alien creatures in it.

Oh, but for that day when a Flinx and Pip adventure movie will be made, I hope I'm not dead when it does happen.

If it ever is made, i guarantee you it will feature real aliens and not people in rubber masks. Although I loved the dude at the bar in ST...because he didn't do anything. Just sat there thinking "Stupid human courtship rituals!"

What I meant was there were two alien life forms on that ice planet that Kirk was ditched to by Spock. That got me excited and giddy and also I wasn't expecting it. Very delightful!
