ok, I do live in a hole under a rock at the back of a cave, because the first I heard of this remake was yesterday when I saw the preview at the theater. (and also preview of remake of Death at a Funeral).

Here's another ADF book to add to my read-again list.

The preview went by so fast (so much action in the scenes), what the heck is this? And then the line "release the kracken!" oh yeah, I know this movie!

I wonder if the new version will have the wonder of the first, doubt it, given all the movie-magic cgi these days, kinda makes one immune.

I had a lot of fun doing the book version of the original...talking to Charles Schneer (the producer), etc. It will be interesting to see the new one.

In fifty years today's sfx will look as primitive as the latest cgi.

suppose in the future, living past 100, pax, will be typical.

haha, am now thinking of the Dr Who episode, where everyone gathered to watch the end of Earth, and there was the last human alive, the woman stretched out like a trampoline, "Moisturize me !!!"

I can definitely see that happening--living past 100, not the Dr. Who episode...
